David A. Holmes, 40, was given a total of 200 months in prison while his wife, Brenda K. Holmes, 40, received a three-month jail stay, according to deputy prosecutor Kevin Hull.
David Holmes pleaded guilty in August to one count of first-degree child rape and two counts of second-degree child rape. He was arrested in August 2008 by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service after allegations surfaced that Holmes, a sailor aboard the Bangor-based submarine USS Ohio, engaged in sex acts with a teenage girl and boy, court documents said.
Brenda Holmes was charged in June with being an accomplice to child rape, court documents said. Prosecutors received information that the teenage girl was forced to watch the couple have sex. On one occasion, the girl videotaped the couple having sex, court documents said.
Hull said Brenda Holmes pleaded guilty to felony electronic communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
