Staff Sgt. Paul Lomparski, a Soldier assigned to 254th Medical Detachment, 212th Combat Support Hospital in Miesau, Germany, was convicted of three specifications in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for aggravated
sexual contact with a child by a military judge during a general court martial hearing September 27, 2010 on Kleber Kaserne in Germany.The offenses involved an 8-year-old child. (Statement is here)
Sergeant Lomparski was sentenced to be confined for 46 months, reduced to the rank of private, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and dishonorably discharged from the Army. PETITIONS FOR GRANT OF REVIEW FILED April 29, 2011. PETITION FOR GRANT OF REVIEW DENIED on June 1, 2011.
In his sworn statement he confesses to sexually touching the victim, in various areas of her body, including her genitals, then masterbating afterward, sitting with her on the sofa and finding opportunties when others were away or occupied to sexually touch the victim, under her clothing and the touching escalated and continued even though the child gave every indication she didn't want to be sexually touched. He told the child he knew what he was doing was wrong and that he would go to jail if she told. Lomparski told investigators he had planned to escalate the touching further to oral sex and deeper penetration.
Lomparski confessed to looking at child pornography for a period of ten years and at the time of his arrest there were 178 images of child pornography on his computer, with girls age 8-10 his preferred subjects and that he planned to engage in sexual actitivites with other child victims.
Another statement made by Lomparski to investigators, found on page 7 of the investigators report told of future plans, "if he was not discovered, that he would have ended up having oral sex, anal sex and possibly killing children after having sexually assaulted them." He further stated that if he had been deployed for a year away from the victim, he would have so much pent up sexual frustratrtion, that "he would have hurt her upon his return". Lomparski further confessed to sexually touching his sister when he was 12.
Lomparski had also begun involvement with special needs children, including Special Olympics and a summer camp where he volunteered for a week, including overnights with MDS children.
Lomparski's online profiles tell a differerent story that does not reflect who he really is. His Google profile says, "Hello everybody. Many know me by Moe and I'm quite the unique person. I've lived in both Germany and the United States and I am bilingual German and English. I am currently in the Army and plan to stay in til I retire."As employment history he lists the U.S. Army, Pizza Hut and Betty Dare Nursing Home among others.
Lomparski's Myspace profiles says, he is known as Lumpi or Moe and, " I am now a combat shrink. I am married with 3 kids." His blog on September 6, 2007 says, " I salute and say: "SPC LOMPARSKI REPORTING TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD". The SGM returns the salute. The SGM then instructs me to do some facing movements and some steps forward and back so the SGM and the board members can inspect my uniform. Once done with the inspection, the SGM points out the chair behind me and asks me to sit. At that time the SGM introduces me to the board members who i respectfully greet. Then the SGM asks me to introduce myself (give a short BIO with Short-term and Long-term goals). Then the SGM asks me why I joined the Army when I did. I answered the question truthfully.
After that the questioning begins. One board member asks me about 3 questions from the category he/she is responsible for. After that the next board member asks me about 3 questions from the category that he/she is responsible for. Then the same for the last board member. When I was asked to recite the Soldier's Creed, the Army Song, or the Warrior Ethos, I stand at attention. After reciting I stand at attention until asked to be seated.
After all board members are done asking questions, the SGM asks me one final question which I answer. Then she asks if I want to go back to any other questions that I had previously missed or answered wrong. In my case I did go back. In retrospect, I shouldn't have."
Questions asked, in part, were: What are the three types of Article 15? What are the three types of Court Martial? What are the army values? What is the warrior ethos? What is the Soldier's Creed? Lomparski says that he got 148 points in that board. Possible points: 150.
Other news on May 12, 2008 indicates "Army Sgt. Paul M. Lomparski arrived for duty at the Miesau Ammunition Depot, Germany. Lomparski, a mental health supervisor, was assigned to the 254th Medical Detachment. The sergeant had served in the military for two years."
Lomparski's Youtube user name is CrazyMoeUs. A July 21, 2010 video he posted, right before his arrest and convictions, shows him on base with his shirt off. The subject of the video is the crisis he says would develop if everyone began eating raw foods and following a healthy lifestyle. He says it would be an end to movie theaters and people wouldn't need to buy clothes any more. September 20, 2010 he posts on Youtube, " I am doing great, and learning from my mistakes. "
During the few months before his arrest and conviction, he posting heavily on Youtube, with 61 videos posted prior to his conviction. His website is here. In none of his online profiles or sites does he mention being a child molester, instead portraying himself as a nice, normal guy.
In 2000, Lomparski graduated from Alamogordo High School, New Mexico, and received an associate degree in 2002 from New Mexico State University, Alamogordo. He also studied through New Jersey's Thomas Edison State College.
